Hah! 2 weeks to the day after I started to try and learn the finger-picking song “Faust Arp”, today I finally nailed it! I can’t do it every time yet, but I have now managed to play it all the way through a couple times without ballsing it up, so am highly chuffed (if slightly sore-fingered). Give me a few more days and I will have well and truly bested it. Most pleasing.
As well as slaying my nemesis song, I have also learned to play the Radiohead song “Street Spirit (Fade Out)” in the finger-picking style. I have been able to play the song for many years, but only with a pick, so this felt a little like learning to ride a bike over again but I can now play it just as easily either way.
Now that I am getting into this new way of playing, I have compiled a short playlist of other songs to work out. I aim to learn them one by one over this coming winter…
