Just a quick, special entry – and don’t worry, Matt and I aren’t adopting; the cats will do us just fine. No, Sharon and I just had a visit from Christophe and Chrisline, our French friends round the corner, who have a reason to celebrate: she is 1 month pregnant! Really great news – they have been trying for some time now, and are both truly over the moon. They are going to arrange a soirée some time soon to celebrate formally, to which we are invited. Very happy for them.
Back in January, we went to Monsec’s Fête du Nouvel An, where we met the residents and listened to a speech by the mayor. The reason I mention it is that he summed it up with a round-up of the previous year, including some (rather depressing) stats:
Number of births in Monsec in 2009: 0
Number of marriages in Monsec in 2009: 0
Number of deaths in Monsec in 2009: 6
It’s great to know that our neighbour friends should be bucking this trend next March! Félicitations to them!
