It must be the time of year – the last gasp of Summer before dreaded Autumn sets in – but for whatever reason, the Pink Floyd song “Goodbye Blue Sky” has been in my head for the last couple weeks. I had sort of been able to play it for quite a while, but like so many things I try and learn, it had a couple fiddly bits that eluded me so it was never finished. Well, now it is.
It’s a fairly morose song, I admit, but it is beautiful and great to play. I’ve also recently learned to play “What I Got” by a group called Sublime (one for the youngsters out there) but haven’t bothered to do a recording of it as there seem to be a million of them littering You Tube already.
All of that has been procrastination, of course: I STILL haven’t got the hang of the hated second solo in Layla, but to be fair, I haven’t been trying lately. I will get it before Christmas!
