It’s been a very quiet week for me since Will has been in England for most of the time. We got haircuts on Tuesday morning and I went to choir that night. I took Will to Angouleme on Wed morning, with a brief stop in Brantome along the way. It was very foggy all the way there and most of the way back. I stopped in Nontron for a few supplies and then headed home.
Thursday was a very busy day in terms of work. I’ve been working on a site, pungl.com for over a year now. It has been partially live for a few months, and we put the whole thing live on Friday morning. So Thurs was spent preparing for that and I worked until close to 9pm. I treated myself to steak while Will was away and made an Asian-style noodle soup on Wed and had it with salad on Thurs.
Not much else happened until Saturday when I went to dinner at Rigit’s. I had invited myself over when they were here last weekend and they were more than happy to oblige. Rich made curry: one lentil dish and one with chickpeas and pumpkin, served with rice, and cauliflower pakora to start. His curry was a nice change from our monthly order, which we’re quickly growing tired of having. I hung out until 11 and then called it a night.
It started raining on Sat night and continued all of Sunday and most of today. Yesterday, it was windy all day with gusts up to 80kph. It was cold the days before and I’ve gone through a lot of firewood while Will’s been away. I’ve been entertaining myself during the evenings watching films that wouldn’t interest Will. I also realised that it’s now 20 years since my round-the-world trip, so I enjoyed a stroll down memory lane by reading my journal.
That’s about it from here. I’ll be leaving soon to get Will in Angouleme with a stop at the shops first.
